The Park National Bank exceeds 10,000 volunteer hours donated after 6th annual PNB Cares program
NEWARK, Ohio — The Park National Bank (Park) announced the results of its sixth annual PNB Cares event, reporting the bank has topped 10,200 hours donated to local communities since the volunteering program began in 2010. PNB Cares is an annual volunteer initiative that serves non-profit organizations in Licking and Franklin counties. During the two-week event, bank associates from every department spend four hours of their regular workday in service to community organizations. This year, nearly 450 Park bankers volunteered over 1,700 hours at 45 organizations throughout Licking and Franklin counties.
Each year, Park accepts project requests from local non-profit organizations who need extra help getting something done. The bank especially encourages small organizations to take advantage of the program, and this year 14 new organizations received helped from a Park National team of volunteers. Projects deliberately included variety of tasks, so that
Park associates of any physical ability and skill set could participate. Work in 2015 included painting, cleaning, landscaping, sorting, and administrative work. Bankers also helped children ride horses as part of a therapy program, and in the past have helped build ramps for disabled persons.
“Our associates look forward to PNB Cares each year,” said Laura Lewis, senior vice president. “Loan processors, branch managers, maintenance workers, the chairman of the board…all levels of associates quickly sign up to get involved. They genuinely enjoy working together to provide special care to local organizations. We all believe in the good work they do for our community, and we want to help them in their mission. It’s amazing to see what our groups accomplish in their four-hour shifts.”
