November 2, 2020

Bucyrus, Ohio – Park National Bank announced today that Division President Don Stone will retire in December. Stone joined the bank as a commercial lender in 1996 and has been a division president since 2001. Under his leadership, the bank grew its position as a top community bank, providing deposits, loans, trust services and investment management to families and businesses in Crawford and Marion counties.

“Don’s insight and dedication have been vital in helping our customers and communities thrive over the last two decades,” said David L. Trautman, Chairman and CEO of Park National Bank. “We are grateful for the extraordinary contributions Don has made and the excellent team of bankers he has built. We wish him and his family all the best in the future.”

Park will continue to rely on strong, local leaders, moving forward under the leadership of Scott Bennett, Jennifer Kuns and Dave Lauthers, and with the direct support of division presidents Bob Boss and Chris Hiner. These leaders have worked together closely for several years, establishing strong teamwork, relationships and collaboration to serve customers in the northern central Ohio area.

“It’s been an honor to work with so many great bankers and customers, and I’m very proud of the positive things that we together made happen,” Stone said. “I feel confident my customers and colleagues will continue taking excellent care of each other, using creativity and teamwork to strengthen relationships and our communities.”

Stone’s leadership in the community extended to serving with several local organizations as a board member or officer, including the Bucyrus Area Chamber of Commerce, the Marion Area Chamber of Commerce, Crawford County Partnership for Education and Economic Development, River Valley Schools Education Foundation, Crawford-Marion County ADAMH Board, Bucyrus Rotary Club, Marion Rotary Club, Marion Area Family YMCA, Epworth United Methodist Church and the North Central State College Foundation. He is currently affiliated with Marion Goodwill Industries.

Stone earned a bachelor’s degree in business and marketing from The Ohio State University and a master’s degree from the University of Toledo. He also is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Madison-Wisconsin.

Headquartered in Newark, Ohio, Park National Bank had $9.2 billion in total assets (as of September 30, 2020). Founded in 1908, it has over 100 offices and ATMs in Ohio, Kentucky, and the Carolinas. The bank consistently earns high marks and awards for its service, community leadership, and financial performance.
